K1X: 4 Elements 4 Icons 4 Basketballs
K1X has hit mixed and combined all the things everyone’s about right now; limited edition, a limited number of units, artist designed basketballs. That’s right, basketballs. And not just any basketballs, basketballs representing the forces of nature; water, air, fire, and earth.
Bill McMullen is a graphic designer, illustrator, and artist who hails from San Diego, but is based out of New York. He’s designed packaging, DVDs, and promo videos for the Beastie Boys, Method Man, DMX and N.E.R.D and released the AD-AT and SHUTTLEMAX for Kidrobot. He’s come from the Drawing Board, the art department under Def Jam Records, which lead to designing the Hello Nasty Beastie Boys’ cover to now design Fire-inspired basketballs. The design inspiration for the Fire basketball came from the graduated line effect of the 1984 Olympic Star . You can check out the interview here.
