The Girls Are Pretty

John Varvatos has always been the go-to guy for perfectly crafted luxury rock and roll attire.  The man lives and breathes Rock-n-Roll.  He literally saved CBGB’s.  Because where else could we cram into on the kick off night of Fashion week to see MF’ing Guns N’ Roses?!  That’s right, you read it.  Guns N’ Roses.  Yep, with Axel.

JOHN VARVATOS & L’UOMO VOGUE teamed up to host a crowd of local and international celebrities, fashionistas, and rock’n’roll lovers, the John Varvatos/L’Uomo Vogue event aroused the old spirit of the seminal underground music club CBGB’s with a concert for a packed house that lasted past 3:00 am.  The stylish guests mingled as the evening began, and were ready to rock as Alberta Cross took the stage to perform.  The crowd’s excitement grew with anticipation as they waited for over an hour for Axl to take the stage.  The adrenaline escalated when Guns N’ Roses performed an unbelievable set of 17 songs, which was entirely impromptu and lasted well over two hours.

They opened with Your’re Crazy, reached fever pitch with Welcome to the Jungle and brought down the house with Paradise City.   The crowd chanted for more and not to disappoint, they pulsed on with Sweet Child O’ Mine, This I Love and Nighttrain.

Nothing goes better with fashion than some down and dirty Rock and Roll. Thank you John Varvatos!!   To cop the looks go to Johnvarvatos.com   or go the the Bowery Store and check out the memorabilia for yourself. One of the walls is the original CBGB’s wall piled with flyers and there are tons of vintage album covers lining another wall.  -JL
